The line

A monstrously long roof line through the Hanshelleren cave. Two wildly different halves: a burly, knee-barred first section, then a technical, barely-there sequence on tiny crimps out an almost horizontal ceiling. Nothing about it is easy to read.

Beta, gear and approach

Steep cave climbing — take a 70 m rope, 18 draws of which most are extended, and a knee pad for both knees. The approach is a 10 minute walk and a short scramble down to the cave. Best in summer.

Watched two climbers work this over a week in the cave. The first half is burly and knee-bar heavy, then the exit is pure fingertip precision out a horizontal ceiling. Bring more chalk than you think you need — the cave drips and your hands never really dry.
